Marcus Webb served two tours before coming home to run the hardware store his father started. He measured a life well lived less by the years in it than by the people who stopped by just to talk.
He was, by his own insistence, “not a serious man” — a claim disproven by everyone who ever asked him for help and got it, no questions attached.
